Apple announced the next generation of Apple TV 4K on October 13, 2026, delivering what the company describes as its most immersive home theater experience yet. The device is supercharged by Siri AI, an entirely new version of Siri powered by the next generation of Apple Intelligence.
Siri AI transforms how users search for and discover entertainment through a full-screen experience. Users can ask conversational questions like “What Apple TV shows won at the Emmy Awards this year?” and receive results with poster art and suggestions. While watching content, viewers can ask follow-up questions such as “Where was this filmed?” or “Is this appropriate for a 15-year-old?” and receive responses in a compact overlay that keeps them immersed in the action. With an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone, Siri AI can tap into personal context to answer requests like “Play the show Alinda recommended.”
The device features three far-field microphones built-in, enabling completely hands-free control and voice commands. Advanced echo cancellation isolates the user’s voice from background sound to deliver clear recognition, even while audio is playing.
Performance improvements include an A19 chip delivering up to 50 percent faster CPU performance and up to 2x faster GPU performance compared to the previous generation. The A19 chip includes a new dedicated AV1 decoder for more efficient, high-quality streaming using less bandwidth. The updated Siri Remote maintains its familiar design while adding Find My support with Precision Finding.
For home theater, the new Apple TV 4K can create a four-speaker surround sound setup when paired with four HomePod mini 2 or HomePod (2nd generation) speakers. The speakers intelligently recognize their position in the room so audio timing and levels are automatically calibrated to the space.
As a home hub, Apple TV 4K continues managing smart home accessories with enhanced features. With a compatible doorbell, notifications appear directly on the TV, allowing users to see who’s at the door and speak with them without interrupting viewing. The device now includes Apple Intelligence-generated camera activity descriptions and summarized notifications for HomeKit Secure Video.
The new Apple TV 4K can be pre-ordered starting October 13, 2026, with availability beginning November 13.
