ArtCraft has released a collection of seven open‑source creative applications written entirely in the Rust programming language. According to the source text, the suite—called Crafting Apps—contains an image editor named PhotoCraft, a vector illustration tool called VectorCraft, a video editor titled FilmCraft, a photo library and raw developer known as LightCraft, a PDF workbench called PrintCraft, a motion graphics and VFX application named EffectCraft, and a page layout and publishing program called DesignCraft.

Each application is described as native software, meaning it is compiled directly from Rust to run on macOS, Windows and Linux without relying on Electron or web views. The source emphasizes that the apps are built from scratch, adhering to a set of principles that include open‑source licensing, familiarity for professionals who already use similar tools, local file processing without cloud round‑trips, and the ability to drive the programs via a CLI, JSON control channel or MCP server for automation and AI agents.

The source also notes that, besides the desktop versions, PhotoCraft, VectorCraft, LightCraft, PrintCraft, EffectCraft and DesignCraft can be compiled to WebAssembly and run inside a browser tab, offering a web‑based alternative for users who prefer not to install software.

All seven apps are distributed free of charge, with their source code hosted on GitHub under permissive licenses. The ArtCraft team invites users to read, fork and build upon the code, and points to the ArtCraft Discord as the hub for early builds, roadmaps and community discussion. The team encourages feedback on what to rebuild next and invites interested parties to test early builds and follow development.

By combining Rust’s performance and safety guarantees with a user interface designed to feel familiar to existing creative professionals, ArtCraft aims to provide a fully open‑source alternative to proprietary suites while maintaining compatibility with established workflows.
