Microsoft has announced significant price increases for Xbox consoles in the European Union and United Kingdom, with increases ranging up to 43 percent depending on the model.
According to The Verge, the 512GB Xbox Series S is receiving the largest percentage increase, jumping from £299.99 / €349.99 to £429.99 / €499.99—a hike of over 43 percent. The 1TB Xbox Series X with a disc drive is increasing by over 30 percent, moving from £499.99 / €599.99 to £669.99 / €799.99.
The full lineup of price changes includes: the 512GB Series S rising to €499.99 / £429.99; the 1TB Series S moving to €599.99 / £519.99; the 1TB Series X Digital increasing to €749.99 / £619.99; and the 1TB Series X Disc reaching €799.99 / £669.99.
Microsoft announced the initial price increases in June but only provided US pricing at that time. The EU and UK pricing reveals similarly dramatic increases, with some models seeing price bumps of up to €200 or £170.
According to the report, this marks the third round of price increases since May 2025. The highest-end model now costs $300 more than its original launch price of $499.99 in 2020. Microsoft is also retiring the 2TB model in response to storage supply constraints.
The Verge attributes the price hikes to rising RAM and storage costs driven by demand from the artificial intelligence industry. While other console manufacturers have also raised prices as hardware costs have increased, Microsoft’s increases are described as more dramatic than competitors’ adjustments. The company’s console has been characterized as struggling in the current market.
